  • How do I use vaginal boric acid suppositories?
    Vaginal boric acid suppositories are for use only in the vagina. Use for 3 to 7 days in a row. Follow your doctor's dosing instructions. Do not take, swallow, or ingest a vaginal boric acid suppository by mouth. This vaginal boric acid suppository and its contents are not for oral use or oral consumption. If swallowed, seek immediate medical help and or call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.
  • Can I use vaginal boric acid suppositories if I am pregnant?
    Do not use vaginal boric acid suppositories if you are pregnant.
  • Can I use vaginal boric acid suppositories if I am nursing or breastfeeding?
    Do not use vaginal boric acid suppositories if you are nursing or breastfeeding.
  • Can I use vaginal boric acid suppositories with other vaginal medications or treatments?
    Do not mix or insert this vaginal boric acid suppository with another suppository or vaginal treatment unless instructed to do so by your doctor.
  • Can I use vaginal boric acid suppositories if I have open wounds or sores present?
    Do not use vaginal boric acid suppositories if any open wounds or sores are present in or around the vaginal area. Seek medical attention and advice from your physician for open wounds or sores around the vaginal area.
  • Can I have vaginal or oral sexual activities during the use of vaginal boric acid suppositories?
    Do not have oral or vaginal sexual activity during the use of this product in the vagina. Wait at least 24 hours after using this product before resuming oral or vaginal sexual activity.
  • What side effects can I have from using vaginal boric acid suppositories?
    Some women report temporary side effects of tingling, watery discharge, and mild burning that usually resolves within hours of use. Wear a panty-liner for protection due to watery discharge.
  • What is pH?
    pH describes the acidity of a substance and is based on a scale range from 1-14. The lower the number, the more acidic the substance and the higher the number, the more alkaline.
  • Why do I need to self-test my pH?
    This self-test allows you to conveniently assess your vaginal symptoms of discomfort such as odor, itching, and abnormal discharge. It is your responsibility to seek medical evaluation from a physician for medical diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • How does my pH change?
    Hormones, menstrual cycles, sexual activity, prescription medications, medical conditions, douching, and fragrant feminine cleansers may alter the vaginal pH in either direction on the scale range.
  • Where can I get more information about vaginal boric acid suppositories?
    Your pharmacist or physician can provide more information about vaginal boric acid use.
  • Can I use vaginal boric acid suppositories while on my menstrual cycle?
    It is not recommended to use during menstrual cycles. Some women use vaginal boric acid for 1-2 days at bedtime, after a menstrual cycle to help restore the vaginal pH since menstrual blood can shift the vaginal pH range.
